If you have an ISO, NRG, CCD, BIN, Cue, IMG, BWT, B5T, B6T, MDS, MDF, CDI, PDI, ISZ, DVD, or LCD disc image and you need to access its contents, it means that the VirtualDVD application is ideally suited for you. This application creates a virtual drive onto which you can mount your disc image. It can emulate up to 24SCSI devices and you can mount any disc image you want onto these drives.

The VirtualDVD installation file is little over 3.2MB in size. Download this file, run it, and a setup wizard will guide you through the installation process. You can install VirtualDVD on top of a 32 or 64-bit edition of Windows XP, 2003, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. Among other things, the aforementioned setup wizard asks you to choose a license type: personal user (100% free), commercial user (20-day trial), commercial user (paid license).

When VirtualDVD launches, you will notice a new icon in the system tray. From this icon, by right clicking on it, you can access the Preferences menu (lets you specify the number of virtual drives and choose if you want the application to run at startup) and you can view your virtual drives and mount discs onto them.

By default, VirtualDVD creates one virtual drive when it installs on your system. If you want or need more, go to the Preferences menu and create more. As mentioned above, VirtualDVD can create up to 24 virtual drives. To mount a disc image on a virtual drive, you need only right click the VirtualDVD system tray icon, select the virtual drive, and hit the Mount Image button. You will then be presented with a window that lets you browse your PC and locate the disc image you want to mount. Follow the same instructions to unmount the image, just that this time you must click Unmount Image.

If you’re going to use VirtualDVD for private, personal purposes, the media emulator is completely free. If you’re going to use it for commercial purposes, then you need to get a license. You can evaluate its functionality for free for 20 days; then you need to get a license to keep using the application.

Need a free tool to create a virtual drive and mount your disc images? Go get VirtualDVD!

None that I could think of.
